What started in 2006 as a strategy-driven college admissions consultancy that advised students and parents during the college search and application process has since evolved into the authoritative online destination for students and parents navigating the competitive US and UK university admissions processes. While much has changed over the last decade, our leadership has remained committed to developing innovative and industry-leading best practices to best serve the students and parents who navigate the ever-changing process of transitioning from high school to college. As we enter our second decade in operation, the strategic leadership of Craig Meister plays a vital role in the success of Admissions Intel site visitors and subscribers and Admissions Intel clients.
A magna cum laude graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, Craig earned his Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA and worked in both Penn’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Office of International Programs before relocating to New York City to work as a communications consultant. In New York, Craig developed innovative business and communication strategies for some of the world’s most successful corporations.
When working with students and their families, Craig employs the skills he learned on Wall Street and combines them with the extensive editing, interviewing, and writing know-how he gathered from his time as a speechwriter for the U.S. Department of State and a journalist. Craig has also served in the roles of undergraduate admissions officer for a public university, director of college guidance for an independent high school, and director of college and career counseling at an international school, experiences that allow him to be the strongest possible advocate for students and parents navigating the college admissions process.
Seeking to combine his communication and consulting skills with his passion for college admissions, Craig founded a one-man college consulting practice in 2006. Over the next decade this small operation grew leaps and bounds: it started with just one Baltimore-based client in March of 2006; yet, by 2014 it served its 1,000th client, located, in of all places, Alexandria, Egypt. In 2015 Craig’s college admissions consultancy, which by this time had offices in the Baltimore, Maryland and Athens, Greece, became Admissions Intel, the authoritative online source for college admissions guidance. Today, Admissions Intel services are available around the world via video conference, phone, and email and in-person in North America and Europe.
In addition to managing AdmissionsIntel.com, Craig provides Admissions Intel clients with the full package: an honest appraisal of college prospects, the latest research and statistics, a strategic mindset, and determined implementation. Speaking regularly to the media and at companies, schools, community centers, and houses of worship, Craig is entertaining, informative, and an authority at shedding light on the often intimidating and confusing, yet vitally important world of college admissions.
When not entrenched in the realm of finding the right fit and getting in, Craig enjoys travel, discussing international affairs and European history, and spending time with his family.
