Goucher College will soon start offering Bachelor of Arts degrees in American Studies at a Baltimore-area jail according to a December 8 announcement. The money to educate students within the jailhouse campus comes from the same fund that provides Pell Grants to students outside prison.
Now, when students complain about feeling imprisoned living without a car on Goucher’s campus, one will have to clarify if the students are referring to the Towson residential campus, which is sandwiched between the Baltimore beltway and some-time shooting gallery Towson Town Center, or the campus located inside an actual correctional institution.
What a time to be alive!
